SOUTH KOREA: A southwestern extension of Daegu metro Line 1 opened on September 8. The 2·6 km alignment takes the line from the former terminus of Daegok to Myeonggok with an intermediate station at Hwawon.
Line 1 is now 28·4 km long with 32 stations. It runs from Myeonggok in the southwest to Ansim in the east of the city, via the main railway station. Interchanges are also provided with metro lines 2 and 3.
