CHINA: Trial operation on Dalian metro Line 1 began on October 30. The 17 km route runs from Yaojia in the north of the city to Fuguojie via Dalian North railway station.
There are 13 stations, with a further station at Huananbei not yet open. Interchange is provided with the east-west Line 2 at Xi’anlu and with tram Routes 201 and 202 at Xinggong Street.
Services are operated by a fleet of 18 six-car Type B trainsets supplied by CNR Dalian. The manufacturer has also supplied 20 trainsets to Line 2, on which trial passenger operation started on April 30, followed by revenue services the following month.
A 12 km southern extension of Line 1 to Hekou is planned, which would run parallel to tram Route 202.
