Owned by the state of Montana since 1983 and operated on lease, CMRI links BNSF at Moccasin with Geraldine, Montana. Most of the CM was built as the Northern Montana route to Great Falls by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St Paul & Pacific Railroad.
