Established on November 1, 2009, as a result of legislation signed by Governor Patrick in June 2009, to bring together all transport agencies and authorities in the state. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Board of Directors also serves as the board for Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA).
