QATAR: Qatar Rail has awarded a €3·2bn contract for the design and construction of the Doha metro Gold Line to a consortium of Larsen & Toubro, Aktor, Yapi Merkezi, STFA Group and Al Jaber Engineering.
The east-west Gold Line is to be completed by 2019 as part of Phase 1 of the four-line metro. It will link Airport City North with Al Rayyan South. It is to have 13 stations and will run in 6 m diameter twin bore tunnels.
NSCC International Doha has been awarded a contract for the foundation works of Al Rayyan/C-Ring station on the Green Line. This work is to take seven months.
