SWEDEN: Stockholm transport authority Storstockholms Lokaltrafik has awarded Eltel a six-year contract to maintain the Lidingöbanan and Spårväg City light rail lines from the start of 2016 until the end of 2021. The scope includes preventive and corrective maintenance of the track, electrification and signalling.
The contract win is a ‘strategic step to establish Eltel as a partner in rail maintenance’, said Fredrik Häggström, President of Eltel Rail & Road, adding that the company is a pioneer in the use of data and preventive maintenance diagnostics to support service level agreements.
Eltel has maintained telecom systems for SL since 2005, and has undertaken a two-year modernisation of the Lidingöbanan.
- SL has awarded EuroMaint a contract to maintain its on-track plant for a further six years, with an option for a two year extension.
