USA: MTA New York City Transit has awarded the Five Star Electric subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corp two signalling modernisation contracts in Queens with a total value of $225·5m.
One contract covers the 71st Street-Continental Avenue and Union Turnpike interlockings, the second covers the Roosevelt Avenue interlocking.
The scope includes design and construction of relay rooms, signals and associated structural, track, electrical, and telecoms works.
Completion is scheduled for first quarter of 2017.
