EUROPE: Freightliner has signed a five-year deal to use 3Squared’s RailSmart software suite, including exclusive collaboration for future developments.
The Genesee & Wyoming subsidiary will initially roll out RailSmart in the UK, starting this year with the RailSmart EDS competency management module and RailSmart ORS rostering system.
Subsequent modules will be deployed in other areas of the business by early 2019.
'Outdated, time-consuming, manual practices will be replaced with the latest intuitive cloud and mobile-based platforms to streamline processes, increase productivity and support us in delivering an improved, even more reliable service’, said Neil McNicholas, Managing Director of Freightliner's European rail services, when the agreement was announced on July 5.
