SERBIA: National freight operator Srbija Kargo has successfully completed negotiations with Siemens for the purchase of eight multi-system electric locomotives, CEO Dušan Garibović said on May 15.
The procurement is being supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development.
Garibović said financial terms were favourable, and the agreement with Siemens would include a short delivery times.
The locomotives will be approved for operation in Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria and Germany.
Srbija Kargo will also overhaul 1 100 wagons this year using its own funds.
