Direct Rail Services has been awarded a contract to work with automotive transport specialist STVA UK to transport cars between the Ford factory at Dagenham in London and a rail terminal at Garston near Liverpool. The trains will run six to eight times a week, with potential for expansion to 10 per week. The terminals are not electrified, and DRS will use its Stadler Class 88 electro-diesel locos on the route.
