PKP Cargo has taken delivery of the last two of a total of 20 Vectron MS locomotives ordered from Siemens Mobility in September 2015 and early 2019. They are approved for use in Poland, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.

Direct Rail Services has been awarded a contract to work with automotive transport specialist STVA UK to transport cars between the Ford factory at Dagenham in London and a rail terminal at Garston near Liverpool. The trains will run six to eight times a week, with potential for expansion to 10 per week. The terminals are not electrified, and DRS will use its Stadler Class 88 electro-diesel locos on the route.
