In a pilot project funded by Vinnova, SilverRail, Snälltåget and Airmee have begun testing the use of passenger trains to carry e-commerce parcels on the Malmö – Stockholm route. The trials are looking at both the physical transport of goods and the booking system. The next step will look at customers’ willingness to pay, to help develop a future business model can be designed.

Ivanomorsk TPK has awarded United Wagon Co a contract to supply a batch of Type 13-6851-04 universal flat wagons with 25 tonne bogies, a capacity of 77·5 tonnes and a loading length of 40 ft. They will be used by MMC Norilsk Nickel from Q2 2021 to transport wheeled and crawler vehicles, heavyweight containers and tank containers with a gross weight of 40 tonnes.
