Sinara Transport Machines’ Lyudinovo Diesel Locomotive Plant is to supply steelmaker Evraz with six TEM14 heavy-duty shunting locomotives. They have a pair of engines, and can shunt trains of up to 6 000 tonnes.

Ukraine’s Ukrzaliznytsia has begun a two-stage process of raising freight tariffs for the first time in two years. It expects this to increase revenue by 2bn hryvnia this year and 10bn hryvnia next year, with the proceeds to be used for infrastructure renewals and electrification. ‘The last large-scale modernisation of the railway infrastructure was carried out in 2011-12’, said Acting Chairman Oleksandr Kamyshin. ‘In the following years, works were almost stopped. We will reverse this trend. Everyone should benefit from increased investment in infrastructure upgrades. The railway will receive modernised tracks, and shippers and passengers high-quality and fast transport.’

Roseksimbank and local partner bank Trade & Development Bank are to finance a 900m roubles order for Altayvagon and the Mongolian Institute of Railway Drawings & Projects to deliver 300 Type 12-2153-01 open wagons to Mongolia by the end of the year. The Russian Agency for Export Credit & Investment Insurance is providing insurance.
