CHINA: A northwestern extension of Hangzhou metro Line 2 opened on July 3, taking the line from Qianjianglu to Gucui Road.
The extension adds 11·1 km and 10 stations, including an interchange with Line 1 at Fengqi Road.
The next phase of the line is under construction and will add 10 stations between Gucui Road and Liangzhu. In the next five years, Hangzhou plans to add seven more metro lines to the existing three-line network.
