INDONESIA: The first of 11 CR400AF Fuxing trainsets for the KCJB high speed line which will connect Jakarta and Bandung has been rolled out by Chinese manufacture CRRC Qingdao Sifang.
Unveiling the eight-car trainset on August 5, CRRC said this would be the first time it had exported high speed trains.
The 1 435 mm gauge high speed line is being built to Chinese standards for 350 km/h operation by Indonesian-Chinese design-build-operate concessionaire PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China.
It will start at Halim in the southeastern suburbs of Jakarta and run 142·3 km to Tegalluar in Bandung, with intermediate stations at Karawang and Walini. Around 82·7 km of the route will be elevated, and 16·8 km in tunnel.
Dynamic tests are planned by the end of 2022, with opening scheduled for 2023. The fastest journey time will be 36 min, compared to more than 3 h on the existing 173 km long 1 067 mm gauge line.
