ARGENTINA: Alstom has been awarded a €16m contract to undertake resignalling works at Ciudad Universitaria, Aristóbulo del Valle, Munro, Boulogne Sur Mer and Grand Bourg stations on the metre gauge Belgrano Norte suburban line in Buenos Aires.
The contract has been awarded as part of a €87m modernisation of 22 stations on the line which is being undertaken by Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura. Alstom is to supply, install, test and commission relay interlocking equipment, point machines, signals, local and remote control posts, track circuits and power supply systems.
‘This is the first tender awarded to Alstom that generated a direct contract with Trenes Argentinos Infraestructure’, said Ernesto Garberoglio, Managing Director of Alstom Argentina, when the contract was announced on April 3. ‘We continue betting on investment in Argentina to improve signalling and the modernisation of the country’s transport system.’
