SPAIN: València operator FGV has awarded Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios a €6·5m contract to install electrification equipment on the future Metrovalencia Line 10.
This covers the installation of overhead equipment and two substations at Amado Granell and Moreres which will reduce the high voltage grid supply to 750 V DC.
The partly underground metre gauge light rail line will run 5·3 km from Alacant station in the city centre to Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències and Natzaret with eight stops. Opening is now planned for August or September 2021.
Tenders have been invited for the installation of the train protection system, signalling and communications, and for construction of a depot and stabling point at Natzaret.
