NORTH MACEDONIA: A proposal to extend the 103 km Skopje – Kičevo line 62·6 km southwards to Struga as the first phase of a railway corridor to Albania was appoved by the government on September 22.
The Ministry of Finance will now seek €426m of funding from international financial institutions and creditors for the project.
The proposed single track line would include 4·5 km of bridges and 12·4 km of tunnels. It would be designed for a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
