MONGOLIA: Samsung C&T Engineering Construction Mongolia has awarded Vossloh Fastening Systems a contract to supply specially-developed MNG 30 rail fastenings for 270 km of 1 520 mm gauge track it is laying for a 217 km heavy haul railway which will link the Tavan Tolgoi coal mines to the Chinese border at Gashuun Sukhait.
Based on Vossloh's heavy-duty W 30 HH fastening for ballasted track on concrete sleepers, the MNG 30 has been adapted to the requirements of coal haulage, and the challenging climate and soil conditions in Mongolia.
Deliveries from Vossloh's plant at Werdohl in German will begin shortly, and are scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2015.
