URUGUAY: Vossloh has won its first contract from Uruguay, covering the supply of rail fastenings for the Ferrocarril Central project to modernise the 273 km route between the port of Montevideo and Paso de los Toros.

Earlier this year the Durmientes de Uruguay joint venture of Italian company WEGH Group and Diorama was awarded a €35m contract to supply concrete sleepers for the project.

Vossloh is supplying its W21 rail fastenings, which it said offer flexible adjustment to accommodate project-specific rigidity and vibration requirements.

Deliveries of the fastenings are scheduled for 2020-21, with the construction works planned for completion in 2022.
