SPAIN: Infrastructure manager ADIF has awarded Enyse a 23-month contract worth €45∙7m to install ASFA digital automatic train protection on the 194 km line between Monreal del Campo, Teruel and Sagunt.
This will be compatible with future 25 kV 50 Hz electrification. Electronic interlockings are to be installed at the stations, where passing loops are being extended to enable regular use by 750 m long freight trains. Optic fibre cabling network is to be extended and cables replaced which required.
More than €290m has so far been invested in the modernisation of the 311 km single track route between Zaragoza and Sagunt, with the final cost expected to be around €450 m.
