INNOTRANS: At this year’s show Systra and Zöllner are joining forces to present an automatic audible and visual warning tool for maintenance staff that meets growing demand for worker protection during engineering possessions.

The two companies claim that their approach is simpler than that offered by competitors in the field. The tool does not require any modification to existing trackwork or signalling equipment, nor does it require cabling or the installation of detection modules in the field prior to deployment.

It can be rolled out on any railway equipped with ETCS Level 2 worldwide. Several warning modes are possible depending on the type of intervention and the requirements of the maintenance sites, for example whether it is being used on a line which is open to traffic, or on one which is adjacent to an active track. It requires only one operator.
