INNOTRANS: Tatravagónka drew on Salzburger Eisenbahn Transportlogistik GmbH’s long experience of timber traffic in its development of the Snps wagon, which is designed with rough load handing in mind.
The wagon is designed to offer optimal loading of 3, 4 or 5 m long timer and sawn wood bundles within the G2/GI1 kinematic gauge. The 70 mm thick wooden floor has a loading edge which protects the wagon floor against damage and does not require demanding maintenance, and all control systems are located under the outer longitudinal beam which provides protection against damage during load handling.
It has a 22·5 tonne axleload which could be increased to 25 tonnes.
The manufacturer says the greatest benefit of the wagon is the optimised stanchion system, designed for simple operation, maintenance and replacement, with the possibility of increasing the loading cross‑section to the maximal 8∙8 m² by means of an adapter.
