ITALY: Infrastructure manager RFI has reopened the 87·2 km Campobasso – Termoli line in the Molise region. Services had been suspended on December 9 2016, since when the route had been served by buses.
RFI has spent €15m rehabilitating the line, including track renewals, repairs to tunnels and viaducts and the removal of some level crossings.
Following the reopening on August 9 Trenitalia is running two pairs of stopping services on the route with a journey time of 110 min. Services are to be increased from the December timetable change.
