RUSSIA: UKVZ has won a contract to supply 74 trams to Chelyabinsk at cost of 74m roubles each.
An initial 33 cars are due to be delivered by June 2023, and the remaining 41 by November 2023. The advance payment for each delivery is 80%.
UKVZ is to supply a customised version of its Type 71-628 fully low-floor, 16·5 m long four-axle bogie tram, with 38 seats rather than the standard 32 and equipment for up to three vehicles to operate in multiple.
The trams will have four asynchronous motors and will be able to operate for 500 m without an external power supply.
