AUSTRIA: The Innsbruck tram network is to be extended west from Technik-West to Völs by 2030 at the latest, the Land of Tirol’s transport portfolio holder René Zumtobel said at the opening of an eastern extension of Line 5.
The Land has invested €30m in the extension which opened on March 4, taking the line 1·2 km eastwards from Schützenstraße to a bus and rail interchange at Rum station and adding three stops.
Line 5 services from Technik-West to Rum Bahnhof run every 10 min on weekdays.
