RUSSIA: An agreement for the modernisation of the tram network in the city of Krasnoyarsk has been signed by the regional authority and tramway project PPP concessionaire Movista Regions.
The agreement signed on March 6 covers the procurement of 50 two-section low-floor trams, along with the replacement of 16 km of existing track, construction of 30 km of new track to serve the Solnechny residential district, rebuilding and re-equipping the depot, and modernising five substations and adding four more.
The modernisation is to be undertaken in three phases, starting this year for completion by the end of 2025. The new trams are expected to be delivered by the end of 2024.
The total cost of the programme is 14·9bn roubles, including 8·2bn roubles for the vehicles.
