SPAIN: Metrovalencia Line 10 was inaugurated on May 17, running 5·3 km from Alacant to Natzaret in central Valencia. The western 2·3 km with three stops is in tunnel, and the eastern 3 km with five stops is on the surface.
Construction of the line was co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. The regional authority said ridership is expected to be 4 million passengers per year, and the line will reduce CO₂ emissions by 2 000 tonnes/year.
Services are operated by FGV using seven Class 4200 Flexity Outlook LRVs manufactured by Bombardier Transportation in 2006, running between Alacant and Ciutat Arts i Ciències-Justícia every 7½ min and every 15 min to Natzaret.
An extension from Natzaret to Neptú is planned.
