SPAIN: Operator FGV has awarded sole bidder Stadler a contract to supply 16 trams to support future network expansion in València and Alacant.
The first of the Series 4500 LRVs are scheduled to be delivered from the manufacturer’s Albuixech plant in 24 months, and the last in 32 months.
The €102m order announced on January 31 includes options for up to 12 more trams to be exercised in two batches of six.
The operator is to seek co-funding for the order from the European Union’s 2021-27 regional development budget.
