UK: Light rail industry association UKTram has published a set of National Occupational Standards for tram driver trainers, which has been approved by the Scottish Qualification Authority.
This forms part of a wider joint project by UKTram and the Light Rail Safety & Standards Board to set out the skills and knowledge required to undertake a particular task or job role to a nationally recognised level of competence.
‘NOS will help to formalise training requirements for employers and employees across the UK, and we continue to work on further standards for key roles within light rail’, said UKTram Operations Manager Steve Duckering.
