POLAND: An extension of the Tramwaje Śląskie network from Zagórze Petla to Zagórze Rondo Jana Pawła II in Sosnowiec was opened for revenue service on December 15.
The 3·1 km extension with six stops has been built by a consortium of Eurovia Polska, KZN Rail and Nowak Mosty under a contract awarded in April 2020. Total cost of the project is put at 88·6m złoty, which was partly funded by the EU.
The extension is served by Route 15 from Katowice pl Wolności, with trams operating every 15 min.
