Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG
This mountain railway runs from the 'Zugspitzbahnhof' alongside DB's Garmisch-Partenkirchen station up to the Zugspitzplatt at 2588m altitude. It climbs over 1800m in the 11·5 km from Grainau to the summit using the Riggenbach rake system cogwheel system, with the final 4·5 km from Riffelriss in tunnel.
