Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu)

The first railway on Kyushu opened in 1889 between Hakata and Chitosegawa. JR Kyushu was created in 1987 when JNR was privatised. It runs 22 routes serving a total of 567 stations, and forms part of the JR Group*.
