When Rhenus Keolis GmbH & Co KG was split, Rhenus took over all bus companies; the Freiberger Eisenbahngesellschaft mbH and the Alzey–Kirchheimbolanden line together formed the new company Rhenus Veniro. The Hunsrückbahn from Boppard to Emmelshausen was added in December 2009.
