CHINA: A 9·7 km southern extension of Beijing’s Changping Linefrom Qinghe to Xitucheng opened on February 4, taking the north – south suburban metro line to 43 km.
There are five stations, including an interchange with Line 15 at Liudaokou, with one more to open later.
Services run every 2½ min in the peaks, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
The latest extension takes the Beijing metro network to 807 km.
The line is to be extended further south to Jimenqiao, where there will be an interchange with Line 12 which is scheduled to open later this year.
