FRANCE: Société du Grand Paris has awarded Alstom a €133m contract to supply and commission 46 km of track, third rail power supplies and associated equipment for the CEA/Saint-Aubin – Orly airport eastern section of the future driverless metro Line 18.
The contract announced on October 28 includes the installation of 35 km of pedestrian walkways and 50 km of cable trays. At least 10% of the contract volume will involve SMEs and people in social integration programmes.
It follows on from contracts for Alstom to equip lines 15, 16 and 17, and to supply rolling stock and control systems for Line 18.
Line 18 will link Versailles and Orly airport. The section between Massy-Palaiseau and CEA/Saint-Aubin is scheduled to open in 2026, and the section between Orly airport and Massy-Palaiseau the following year.
