INDIA: Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corp has awarded Larsen & Toubro a contract to design, supply, install, test and commission the 750 V DC third rail systems including substations and power supplies for Agra metro Corridors 1 and 2.
The 36-month project will be funded by the European Investment Bank. L&T is undertaking track works for the Agra metro under a previous contract.
The 14 km Line 1 will run from Taj East Gate to Sikandara, with elevated sections and tunnels under the city centre. The 15·4 km Line 2 will run from Agra Cantt to Kalindi Vihar and be elevated throughout.
