VENEZUELA: Alstom delivered the last of 22 Metropolis trainsets to Los Teques on April 19.
In 2011 the Consorcio Linea 2 consortium of Odebrecht and Vinccler awarded the Grupo de Empresas consortium of Alstom (61%), Colas Rail (22%) and Thales Transportation Systems (17%) a contract to supply railway systems and rolling stock for the second phase of Metro Los Teques.
Alstom is supplying the six-car trainsets as part of its share of the €530m contract. This also includes the supply of electrification, power substations and part of the signalling equipment. The first train arrived from Alstom’s Valenciennes site in 2015.
