NETHERLANDS: Amsterdam city transport operator GVB signed a contract with VDL Bus & Coach on December 12 for the supply of 31 battery-electric buses with options for up to 69 more.
The buses are due to enter service in 2020 on routes 15, 22 and 36. VDL is to supply nine Citeas SLF-120 Electric buses with 31 seats, and 22 articulated Citeas SLFA-180 Electric vehicles, with 47 seats. These will be equipped with battery packs of 216 kWh and 288 kWh respectively.
The batteries will be charged through a roof-mounted pantograph. VDL is supplying seven rapid chargers to be installed at Sloterdijk and 31 chargers for overnight charging at Garage West.
