GERMANY: Berlin transport operator BVG has ordered 15 Mercedes‑Benz Citaro electric buses. Deliveries are due to begin in the first quarter of 2019.
Each bus will have ten battery modules which will be charged using a plug-in charger at the depot. The axles will be powered by electric motors near the wheel hubs, and the buses will be fitted with a thermal management system to lower energy consumption.
