CHINA: Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric has rolled out the first train for Wuhan metro Line 21. The 35 km line will have 16 stations.
The 100 km/h trainset is equipped for automatic operation (GoA2). It also features LED lighting that the supplier says can provide 30% energy savings, which equates to around 400 000 yuan over 30 years.
On July 28 tunnelling was completed on the second phase of Line 6, which will be 15·3 km with five underground and four elevated stations. Tunnelling was also completed on the first phase of Line 16. The 32·4 km line with five elevated and seven underground stations will be the fastest in Wuhan, with services running at up to 120 km/h.
