GERMANY: Solaris Bus & Coach has signed a contract with operator In der City Bus Frankfurt am Main for the supply of five electric buses.
To be delivered in mid-2018, each of the Urbino 12 buses will be equipped with 240 kWh batteries that will drive two motors. Medcom is supplying five 40 kW depot chargers.
The buses will have capacity for 70 passengers including 28 seated, plus two tip-up seats in a multifunction space. They will be equipped with air-conditioning, LED lighting, three LCD passenger information screens, USB chargers and wi-fi.
- Solaris has signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with Greek power supplier PPC that aims to explore potential co-operation in electric urban transport.
