GERMANY: Würzburg transport authority WVV signed a contract with HeiterBlick for the supply of 18 trams on December 9.
The Leipzig-based supplier is due to deliver the vehicles in 2022-24, when they will replace the older GT-E and GT-D vehicles.
The five-section trams will have capacity for 76 seated and 147 standing passengers, with two multi-function spaces. The 750 kW vehicles will be equipped with infotainment screens, air-conditioning and 20 USB charging sockets.
In January 2018 the city council approved the procurement of low-floor trams, having tested a Transtech Artic tram on the metre-gauge network.
