GERMANY: VDL Bus & Coach signed a contract on October 8 to supply 36 articulated electric buses to Kiel.
VDL is to supply its Citea SLFA-187 Electric model. The 18·7 m long three-axle low-floor vehicles will operate on five routes in Kiel. Charing will take place at the termini using 450 kW chargers being supplied by Schaltbau Refurbishment.
VDL electric buses are already in operation in several other cities in Germany: Münster, Osnabrück, Köln, Oberhausen and Bottrop.
