TURKEY: The first of 14 trams that Škoda Transportation is supplying to Eskişehir entered revenue service on September 17.
Škoda won a €26m contract in September 2016 for the supply of its ForCity Classic low-floor trams for the metre-gauge network. The unidirectional five-section trams are 30·1m long and 2 300 mm wide with capacity for 270 passengers and a maximum speed of 70 km/h. Roof-mounted nano-lithium-titanium traction batteries enable up to 3 km of catenary-free operation.
