POLAND: Metro Warszawskie selected Škoda to supply up to 45 trains for both metro lines on June 20. The consortium led by Škoda Transportation and including Škoda Vagonka beat bids from Stadler, CAF, Alstom and a Siemens-Newag consortium.
The first six-car walkthrough trainset is to be delivered within 20 months from contract signature, with deliveries of the base order of 37 due within 53 months. Metro Warszawskie has 30 months from contract signature to exercise options for up to eight more trains.
The order is being financed by Metro Warszawskie with contributions from the EU.
