POLAND: Tramwaje Śląskie has selected Modertrans to supply up to 15 partly low-floor trams for its network centred on Katowice.
The base order covers eight unidirectional and two bidirectional single-section 13·5 m long trams. The tender specifies that the vehicles must be at least 20% low-floor, with capacity for 90 or more passengers, including a minimum of 18 seated.
Modertrans beat a more expensive bid from H Cegielski - Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych. Deliveries are due to be completed by the end of June 2020.
