GERMANY: Karlsruhe tram-train operator AVG has ordered a further 20 dual-system Flexity light rail vehicles from Bombardier Transportation, the supplier announced on December 17.
Vehicles from the €87m order are due to be delivered between May 2020 and March 2021. The 37 m long LRVs have capacity for 244 passengers, including 93 seated, and are able to run in multiple.
The order is the second option that AGV has exercised within a framework agreement signed in 2009 covering the supply of up to 75 vehicles. An initial order of 30 was followed by 12 more LRVs in 2016.
