ITALY: BYD has won a tender to supply six electric buses to operate in Padova. The 12 m long buses will be operated by Busitalia Veneto, a subsidiary of Busitalia Sita Nord, which is owned jointly by FS Group and the municipality’s APS Holding.
BYD has previously supplied electric buses to Milano, Torino and Novara. ‘We are anticipating a significant rise in sales of our e-buses in this southern European country after the great news on recent tenders we won in the northern countries of Sweden and Norway’, said BYD Europe’s Managing Director Isbrand Ho. ‘Italy has become a key market to us and we are looking forward to even more orders in the near future.’
