DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: Alstom has delivered the first two of six three-car Metropolis trainsets that it is supplying for the Santo Domingo metro Line 2B extension.
In 2015 operator Opret awarded Alstom a contract to supply six additional trains for the 4·6 km, four-station eastern extension from Eduardo Brito to Carretera Mella.
Alstom supplied 15 three-car Alstom trainsets for the initial 12·8 km section of Line 2, which was inaugurated in April 2013. Line 1 uses a fleet of 19 three-car trainsets also supplied by Alstom.
