UZBEKISTAN: Transmashholding subsidiary Metrowagonmash handed over five metro trainsets to Toshkent Metro on September 19.
MWM’s contract signed in October 2018 includes spare parts and staff training. The order is being partly financed through a loan from Russian development bank VEB.RF and the National Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity.
The walk-through trainsets are composed of three motor cars and one trailer. The air-conditioned trains are equipped with asynchronous traction motors, wheelchair spaces and 1 400 mm wide doors.
The trains are to be used on the elevated 7·1 km Sergili Line, which is due to open in 2021.
